Living in this materialistic world, we tend to associate ourselves with lot of things which are both physical and mental. Every thought you have and every deed you do is your reaction basing on the knowledge you possess to situations which eventually becomes your character. Accumulation of these reactions increases your knowledge and gives you the power to react better when situations repeat which we call adaptation. One must not forget that these reactions are always judged by their righteousness which is again bound by time. So most of the truths we believe in are bound by time which apply to a specific period.
Another aspect which is critical to association with belief system of our society. Society and surroundings play a major part in shaping up of the ideological beliefs of a person. The hardest part is to understand these beliefs from their core perspective. Separation of the core values from the belief system of the society is very important to understand the need and existence of the belief system.
So let us understand this more in terms of examples.
There were very less rules from an air travel perspective prior to 9/11 in any country. One could almost travel very freely and restrictions were very far and less. In today's world one has to go through screening and have his baggage screened and may be even thoroughly checked at airport. The time based rules are a result of the advancements in the society both in a positive and negative sense.
If one is carried by the materialism of rules , thou shall never reveal the underlying core values. Again the core value system is interpreted by the society in a manner which fits the time based needs of the society. Taxes for example are accepted in modern day society. The same taxes were considered barbaric during ancient times.
Since humans have evolved into multiple societies, there are multiple belief systems and the clash of these societies happen due to the misunderstanding of their own belief system or other's belief system. So most people by this time would try to think that belief system is a religion which is not necessarily true. Let us see the difference in belief system, society and religion in my next blog.
