Delhi Gang rape victim dies after the Haryana gang rape victim commits suicide, A sad week in the history of Gang rape in India. The women of India are respected more than ever before and women of India are progressing ever. We have the best women leaders and businesswoman compared to many other countries and you would find women in every walk of life in India. The rape of Indian women has also been on the rise. Its time to introspect and take action for every person irrespective of the gender. You can see girls roaming with no fear in Mumbai at late night, but 9 pm in Delhi is dangerous for any person. Where are we heading to ? Are we mature enough to be modern. A big question to the Indian society.
A society that has allowed the fairer sex to come forward and drive the nation. Equality and Inclusivity coming at the price of rape is hard to digest, Does it require a few lessons to be taught to the dominant sex about behaving themselves and respecting others. Many thoughts come into mind of the various ways people have dealt with these rapes. A few people questioned the time at which she was outside while others were talking about the increase of atrocities on women. Whom are we supposed to blame? The government, the leaders or the society or We the people.
The government and the whole system has been trying to do its best with respect to protection of women. Indian system does not have its checks and balances and most importantly does not have a time frame to implement justice. The cases go on for years before justice is delivered. I can quote many instances where justice has been delayed or denied. Secondly the government does not have any sort of accountability except to suspend its junior most officers whenever something comes up. Thirdly the Indian male does have the perception that he can escape by committing a crime since its mostly a male dominated society and the corruption that runs in the blood veins of the society. Lastly the effect of alcohol in many crimes and accidents in India have been disastrous. From celebrities to truck drivers to motorists , the last couple of decades have seen the rise of accidents and crimes where alcohol had its presence.
All these factors are a huge combination and a disaster awaiting to happen but the current society will forget Damini like the movie with the same name since tomorrow is another day and awaits another headline.

Having said above things, I agree in most of the things you wrote. Everything is in our minds and environment we grew up.
